The Foam Lake Merchants, Fishing Lake Mariners and Wadena Wildcats took advantage of some dry conditions tonight to play some games that were delayed due to Saturday’s rain out in Wadena. The Mariners and Wildcats visited Foam Lake to continue the Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League Playoffs Monday June 27th. The Mariners faced the Merchants in their A-Semifinal game at 6:30. The Mariners Ace Dusty Keshane stymied the Foam Lake bats with a complete game one hitter. The Merchants James Anderson kept the Mariners to 4 runs but that proved to be enough as the Merchants bats could only muster up one run.

In game two the Wadena Wildcats faced the Merchants in the B-Side. The Merchants got 3 in the first and 4 in the second which proved to be enough as the Wildcats could only get 3 runs of veteran James Anderson. Nathan Pomedli pitched the entire game for the Wildcats in their last league game of the season.

The Double knockout playoffs will continue in Wadena Friday July 1st at 6:00 PM with the Rosebud Royals facing the Fishing Lake Cubs. The Mariners will face the Wynyard Blues in the A-Final of the double knockout draw with the date TBD. Dates are also TBD for the winners of the Royals/Cubs against the Foam Lake Merchants.

Rain settled in and delayed the Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League Playoffs Saturday in Wadena. Wynyard Blues Vs Rosebud Royals and Fishing Lake Mariners vs Foam Lake Merchants will resume play TBD 6:00 PM with games to continue immediately following in Wadena.

RESULTS:
Rosebud Royals defeated the Wadena Wildcats 14-1. Steve Moulding got the win for the Royals while Ryan Baker hit a Home Run. Wildcats drop to play the loser of the Mariners and Foam Lake.

Fishing Lake Mariners defeated the Fishing Lake Cubs 5-1 with Dusty Keshane taking the win. Mariners face the Foam Lake Merchants in the A-Semi while the Cubs will face the lose of Rosebud and Wynyard.

RICHARDSON PIONEER MENS FASTBALL LEAGUE PLAYOFFS:
The Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League Playoffs are now set with the Wynyard Blues and Foam Lake Merchants earning first round byes by virtue of their 1st and 2nd place finishes. The one-day double-knockout Playoff Tournament is Saturday June 23rd and starts at 9:00 AM in Wadena. The playoffs kicks off with some community rivalries in round one. At 9 AM, the Fishing Lake Cubs face the Fishing Lake Mariners AND the Wadena Wildcats facing the Rosebud Royals, who are also from Wadena. For the A-Semi-Finals, the winner of the Wadena battle will face the Wynyard Blues, while the winner of the Fishing Lake game will face the Foam Lake Merchants with both games at 10:30 AM. The Double-knockout tournament will conclude with the A Winner vs B Winner game at 4:30 and the second game (if necessary) at 6:30. The 6:30 game will only be needed if the B-side winner defeats the A-side winner at 4:30. There is a gardens in left field and concession all day. League Champions will be presented with the Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League trophy (pictured).

GAME RESULTS:
Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League play came to a close tonight in Wadena with the Fishing Lake Cubs defeating the Wadena Wildcats 11-1. Corbitt Sabit pitched for the Cubs, while Dylon Murias and Koltin Paquachan split the duties for the Wildcats. No home runs were reported.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
The Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League Playoff Tournament set for Saturday June 25th in Wadena. The playoff tournament is a 6-team double knockout starting at 9:00 AM. The A vs B final is set for 4:00 with the last game set for 6:00 if necessary (if B side winners beat A side winners).

Wynyard is visiting Fishing Lake June 22 to face the Fishing Lake Mariners at 7:00 and the Fishing Lake Cubs at 9:00. The Wadena Wildcats visit Fishing Lake to face the Cubs Thursday at 7:00.

RECENT RESULTS:
Tuesday June 21st in Wynyard SK, the Wynyard Blues kept their undefeated season alive against the Rosebud Royals. The Blues jumped out to a big lead with 6 in the first and 3 in the second. The Royals battled back bringing the game to 10-9 through 5 and a half. In the end the Blues took game with a final score 13-9. The Blues pitched by committee with Josh Jordan, Brent Pitzel and Mike Jordan pitching with Pitzle getting the win. The Royals sent Lucas Ochitwa to the mount for the complete game.

Monday June 20th in Foam Lake, The Royals Brady Linnen hit a lead off home run but the Merchants answered back and jumped out to an early lead and held it against the Royals. Winning pitcher was Kevin Garinger with Ryan Junop coming in for the 6th. The Royals send James Holowaty and Greg Tokarchuk to the mount. The Merchants Kevin Garinger, and Greg Beaudoin hit home runs with Mark Meldrum hitting a Grand Slam. Logan Kristjanson went 4 for 4, Korby Koshman went 3 for 3 and Brady Linnen was a triple shy of the cycle going 4 for 4. Final score was 22-11
